At least eight people died and two others were injured after a sudden tornado hit Danzhou City, south China's Hainan Province, on Thursday.

The incident happened at around 3:00 a.m. BJT, causing an apartment building to collapse.

The injured were sent to a local hospital and an emergency team is at the scene.
