Israeli fighter jets and drones have reportedly launched multiple airstrikes on targets in Syria and Iraq over the past few weeks. On Sunday, an Israeli drone went down over the southern suburbs of Lebanon's capital Beirut, while a second exploded in the air causing severe damage to a Hezbollah media center. Lebanon was not the only nation to condemn Israel's aggressive moves over the weekend. Iraq demanded American troops leave the country after a series of Israeli airstrikes targeted Iran-allied Shi'ite militias over the past week, saying the U.S. was behind the attacks. Israel said its attacks in Syria targeted several positions of Iranian-backed fighters, and that they were an effort to thwart Iranian drone attacks on Israel.
