The United States has approved a sale of anti-ballistic missiles to Japan with an estimated cost of 3.3 billion U.S. dollars. This comes after a series of new ballistic missile tests by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK). The Pentagon said the sale includes 73 missiles designed to intercept other incoming ballistic missiles. Washington also approved new arms sales to Hungary, South Korea, Lithuania and Denmark. This month the U.S. has carried out seven tests of new short-range ballistic missiles.
