Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte arrived in China on Wednesday for his fifth trip to the country since taking office three years ago. He is expected to discuss the enhancement of ties during his meetings with Chinese officials. The Chinese foreign ministry said Duterte will hold talks with President Xi Jinping during his five-day visit. It has only been four months since Duterte last came to China for the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Since 2016, the Philippine president has made an effort to better economic ties with China.
