At around 11:15 p.m. on Friday, an off-duty male police officer was attacked by three males with knives when he was walking past Kwai Yi Road. Sustaining injuries to his limbs and back, the officer was sent to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment, the Hong Kong police said in a statement early Saturday.
Hong Kong's Commissioner of Police Lu Weicong confirmed the incident. Lu also said he is very angry about the incident, and called the attack despicable. He also said investigation shows no evidence that the injured policeman contracted enmity with others. Lu said they will try their best to arrest the suspects. An investigation is underway.
