Kenya's 30th international camel derby took place in Maralal, a desert town in Samburu County on August 29, 2019. The annual camel race is aimed to raise awareness of desertification and attracts local and international riders from more than a dozen countries competing for the first position. In addition to the camel race, the event will also have a variety of activities, including singing and dancing performances in traditional costumes to share the fun of Samburu culture.
