Ally Li fell in love with Kunqu after watching the Peony Pavilion (youth version) being performed by Pai Hsien-yung. As it was difficult to find a Kunqu teacher in Macao, she attended an online class taught by a teacher from the Chinese mainland. After years of diligent efforts, she became the first person from Macao to perform on the CCTV Chinese Opera Gala.
