China used 5G+8K technology to broadcast the Beijing rounds of the FIBA Basketball World Cup on August 31, marking the first demonstrative application of the technology at a major international competition. According to the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, 5G+8K technology is being used to broadcast eight tournament games from August 31 to September 15.
