Chief Executive Carrie Lam of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) addressed a press conference on the recent protests in Hong Kong.

Lam said she will not resign and still has confidence in being able to lead Hong Kong out of this difficult time, after two months of protests. The priority for Hong Kong now is to stop the violence and restore peace, stressing the SAR government is building platforms for dialogue with the public.

At a news conference on Monday, HKSAR officials strongly opposed any form of student strike and violent protests and said Hong Kong police will continue to uphold the rule of law and strictly enforce it, calling on residents to say no to violence.
