The three-day Teej Festival, celebrated by Hindu women in Nepal and some parts of India, features dancing, singing, getting together with friends and telling stories, dressing up with henna-colored hands and feet, wearing red, green or orange clothes, sharing festive foods, and playing under trees on swings on Haryali Teej. /VCG Photo

The festivals are dedicated to Goddess Parvati and her union with Lord Shiva, with married women praying for long lives for their husbands, while unmarried women wish for handsome husbands and happy conjugal lives. /VCG Photo
