Lithuania and Australia became the survivors of the "Group of Death" as they defeated Canada 92-69 and Senegal 81-68 respectively on Tuesday. By contrast, Canada, which had lost to both teams in their first two games, had to accept the fact that they were eliminated already.

Patty Mills again contributed 22 points, the highest on the court to Australia's offense while Joe Ingles missed one assist for triple-double – 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists. On Senegal's side, four of their players put down double-digit points and Youssoupha Ndoye had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Though the Boomers held a great lead in assists (28-10) and field goal rate (54.73 percent-38.03 percent), they only gained clear advantage in the third quarter (24-17), not to mention they committed 15 turnovers, giving Senegal many opportunities for easy points.

In the second game of Group H, Lithuania showed why they have been one of the best teams in the world by crashing Canada 92-69. Five Lithuanian players scored over 10 points and the highest came from Edgaras Ulanovas (15). The team's NBA twin towers, Jonas Valanciunas and Domantas Sabonis both put down 13 points and eight rebounds. Moreover, they also had two players with eight and nine points respectively.

Unlike the average performance of Lithuania, Canada's score was concentrated on three players: Khem Birch (12), Corey Joseph (15) and Kyle Wiltjer (24). This explained why the team ended getting only 69 points: their game was too simplistic and predictable.

In offense, Canadian players often shot or drove towards the basket after setting one screen. In defense, they seemed to put up zone defense but, in most cases, it only took Lithuanian players one simple screen to find open shots.

As a result, Canada's FG rate was only 41.07 percent and understandably trailed largely in rebounds (46-27) – Canadian players who did not participate in offense had neither the time nor motivation to compete for offensive rebounds.

Australia and Lithuania will play against each other on Thursday to decide which team will top this group before entering the next stage.
