Wang Yi commemorates martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers

Visiting Chinese State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited Martyrs Cemetery of the Chinese People's Volunteers in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Tuesday, commemorating the martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the 1950-53 Korean War.

A total of 1,156 martyrs rest in the cemetery.

Earlier, Wang also met with his DPRK counterpart Ri Yong Ho, where the latter has shown full support to China in dealing with Hong Kong issues.

Arriving in the DPRK capital of Pyongyang on Monday afternoon, the Chinese foreign minister is expected to stay in the country until Wednesday.
