We often see flowers of yellow, red, pink, white and purple, but have you seen any plant with bright greenish-blue blooms? Jade vine (Strongylodon macrobotrys) is an amazing creature of nature that you have to see to believe.

The plant, which is native to the tropical forests of the Philippines, is closely connected to beans such as kidney bean. Its claw-shaped flowers have the color of jade and attract bats to pollinate at twilight.

Today, the beautiful plant is in danger of extinction in the Philippines due to deforestation and decrease of its natural pollinators.
