China is not withdrawing WTO complaint over U.S. tariffs, says spokesperson

China is not considering withdrawing its complaint with the World Trade Organization against the United States over tariffs Washington has imposed on 300 billion U.S. dollars' worth of Chinese goods, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) spokesperson Gao Feng said on Thursday.

The U.S. imposition seriously violate the rules of free trade and the multilateral trading system, according to Gao.

China’s complaint with WTO is a totally justified action for China to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests and to protect the multilateral trade system, he added.
