"China: World of Wonders" is a new virtual reality series focusing on popular tourist destinations in the country. In this episode, we visit a unique site in southwest China's Chengdu City. Located just 18km from the city center, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is one of Chengdu’s most popular tourist attractions. Visiting the facility is the easiest way to see the famous giant pandas – native to Sichuan Province's forests – outside of a zoo (there are nine giant panda scenic parks and seven nature reserves in Sichuan). The enclosures here are spacious and well-maintained. The Chengdu Research Base is home to nearly 120 giant pandas and 76 red pandas, and visitors are even allowed to feed these shy animals.
