Yan Dong, a member of the PLA Navy who serves on the Chinese missile destroyer Haikou, told a story how the navy forces repelled armed pirates and protected Chinese fishing vessels in the Gulf of Aden on September 30, 2017. After that, the fishing boats unfurled banners to thank the Chinese navy and held a special flag-raising ceremony on the sea.
