The documentary "The Pledge of Iron Brothers" was screened on Thursday in Beijing, to mark the China-Pakistan relations.

Jointly produced by The Daily Mail, an Islamabad-based English newspaper and Pakistan-China Media Friendship Association, the documentary also payed tribute to people who devoted themselves to bringing the two countries closer over the past 70 years, since the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), as Makhdoom Baber, president and editor-in-chief of the Pakistani newspaper, said in the launching ceremony.

“Iron Brothers” was known in both China and Pakistan as a nickname to describe the relationship between the two countries.

During the past 70 years, mega projects have been launched under the framework of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, as well as the Belt & Road Initiative, giving both sides more opportunities to enhance their relationship, said Baber.

"China-Pakistan friendship is like jade: its priceless and lasts 70 years. As President Xi Jinping said, China-Pakistan relations are friendship between iron brothers," said Naghmana Hashmi, ambassador of Pakistan to China, at the ceremony held at the Pakistani embassy in Beijing.

"As the entire Chinese nation is preparing to mark the momentous 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic, it is a most befitting opportunity to launch this documentary as a tribute to the time-tested all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between Pakistan and China," the ambassador concluded.
