Rural school reopens, putting end to children's dangerous journey
00:35

The reopening of a primary school in Qianxi County in southwest China's Guizhou Province means local children no longer have to brave a tough and sometimes hair-raising trip to school. The school shut its doors in 2009 due to insufficient students. Since then, some children have had to climb over cliffs to get to class. Others got up at 5:00 and took boats, usually coming home in darkness. Ten years later, the school is welcoming students again, saving them from travel worries and getting them closer to the world of knowledge.
