Former world number one and seven Grand Slams winner Venus Williams will receive the first wild card from the China Open.
It will be the 39-year-old American's seventh appearance at the China Open.
Venus won seven Grand Slam singles Championships in her career, including five Wimbledon titles and two U.S. Opens. She was also the gold medalist in the women's singles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and first topped the world in February 2002.
In 2017, Venus reached the finals at the Australian Open and Wimbledon, reached the top four at the U.S. Open and rose to fifth place at the end of the year.
The best result of Venus' six previous women's singles competitions in the China Open was the last eight in 2005, and she entered the top 16 in 2014.
