Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has met with Macao's new Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng. Premier Li handed Ho a State Council decree appointing him as the fifth chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region. Li gave his congratulations and said Macao's rapid development and cooperation with the Chinese mainland can be attributed to joint efforts by the government and people from all walks of life in the region. Premier Li said he hopes the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area can bring the region further progress. Ho thanked the central government for his appointment, and vowed to uphold the Basic Law and the policy of "One Country, Two Systems" as well as to actively participate in the development of the Greater Bay Area.
