The main venue of the Mid-Autumn Festival Gala this year is in Huai'an City, East China's Jiangsu Province. The festival extravaganza is organized by the China Media Group. Insiders say that the theme of this year's Mid-Autumn Gala is about family and homecoming.

"Missing one's hometown is what we want to express onstage. Our motherland is the greatest hometown for all Chinese. This is the unique perspective of our performances," said Deng Lin, the art director of the gala. 

Many local college students majoring in dance are thrilled to have the opportunity to perform in the gala, saying they've been rehearsing for a long time, but the effort is worth it. 

Performers from Beijing have also been practicing day and night for two weeks. Chen Mengjie, one of the dancers, said they wanted to give the audience the best, so they paid a lot of attention to every detail of their routine.
