At the Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition, enthusiasts and experts in ornamental plants are gathering for the World Ornamental Horticulture Summit 2019. It's the first time Beijing hosted the meeting.

The summit is the premier event in the annual global ornamental horticulture industry. Ornamental horticulture is the science, business, art, and technology of cultivating plants for recreational or ornamental purposes.

More than 360 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from 69 countries and six international organizations are in Beijing to share knowledge and best practices in ornamental horticulture.

The promo of a Chinese documentary titled "The Journey of Chinese Plants" was shown at the summit. It took three years to film the documentary in 27 Chinese provinces and seven other countries, including the U.S., Japan, and the UK.

The World Ornamental Horticulture summit will end on September 13.

The Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition opened in April and ends on October 7. With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, organizers urge visitors to avoid peak hours this coming weekend.
