Village in Philippines offers rice in exchange for plastic waste

A village in the Philippines has taken its fight against plastics to a whole new level. Bayanan, a village outside the capital of Manila, launched what it calls "plastics-for-rice" program. It's a scheme that encourages residents to hand over their plastic trash in exchange for rice.
