China's Zheng Shuyin has won a gold medal at the ongoing 2019 Taekwondo Championships on Friday in Chiba in Japan. In the women's +67kg final, Zheng remarkably brought herself outmaneuvered her arch-rival Bianca Walkden thanks to a roundhouse kick in overtime.

After being controversially disqualified in the women's +73kg final in Manchester this May when she was leading 20-10, Zheng finally clinched the winner's medal this time.

Earlier, 25-year-old Zheng made a stuttering start as she was trailing to Walkden by 5-0 after the first set. However, Walkden's foul in the third set gave a key point to Zheng who cut the deficit to 5-2. With only 44 seconds to go, Zheng found a chance to level the score, and as her rising kick hit Walkden's head, the game went to the overtime.

As the extra time rule says that the first one who gets points claim the victory, Zheng went on to score two points to win the game with her spectacular roundhouse kick. The victory also helped her earn 40 Olympic points to book a ticket for the next year's Tokyo Olympics.
