The traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, which fell on September 13 this year, is celebrated across China with a variety of special events. The centerpiece of the festival is celebrating the advent of a full moon. Lantern exhibitions are also popular places to visit. The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar each year. It is a time to celebrate a good harvest and family reunions.
