Europe came in leading 4 1/2 to 3 1/2, and Celine Boutier's chip shot at 15 just missed the cup as she and Georgia Hall turned up the heat on Lizette Salas and Ally McDonald.
Needing two putts at 16 to win, Hall's first stops just inched from the hole, helping her and Boutier to prevail 3-and-2, putting the hosts 6 1/2 to 5 1/2 ahead, after the morning foursomes.

Kang slammed the door shut with her putt at 17. The Americans battled back to tie things at 8-all, going into the final day in the north of Scotland.
