The relocation of Jiaotong University from Shanghai to the city of Xi'an is a great accomplishment in Chinese history. Huang Shangheng is one of the people who made the move. In 1958, he arrived in Xi'an at the age of 10 and this was the starting point for the story of three generations of his family moving west.
