China's stance on China-U.S. trade consultations is consistent and clear, and Joshua Wong is not qualified to judge the relevant issues over China-U.S. relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying stressed at a press conference on Monday.
Hong Kong's separatist Joshua Wong is reportedly in the United States seeking support of U.S. lawmakers to interfere in Hong Kong affairs. One of his requests is to add a human-rights clause into China-U.S. trade negotiations.
In response to Wong's move, Hua reiterated that Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs that brook no foreign interference, adding that any attempt to disrupt Hong Kong is doomed to fail.
On Sunday, radical protestors marched to British Consulate-General in Hong Kong, calling for interference.
Speaking of the protestors, Hua said that "Chinese begging for foreign interference in China's internal affairs" is "shameful."
