Former Bayern Munich striker Sandro Wagner and Frank Acheampong were both on the scoresheet as Tianjin Teda ended Shanghai Shenhua's 5-game unbeaten streak on Sunday with an accomplished 3-0 victory at the Hongkou Football Stadium.

Acheampong put the visitors ahead after 12 minutes when he finished from ex-Shenhua midfielder Zheng Kaimu's through ball. Teda spurned several chances to add to their lead before Wagner made it 2-0 in the 21st minute as the German powered home a header from Acheampong's corner.

Shenhua largely lacked luster in their hunt for another Chinese Super League win and Zheng's looping header on Zhao Honglue's cross did not flatter the hosts.

Odion Ighalo, who returned to action after a two-month injury break, had Shenhua's best chance of the encounter when he won a penalty nine minutes from full time. But the Nigerian star fluffed his line from 12 yards.

The heavy loss drops Shenhua to 12th in the CSL table, leaving them only five points above the relegation zone. In sharp contrast, this was the best performance in a while from Teda, who showed greater quality in attack to secure their third win in four outings.

Elsewhere on Sunday night, Wuhan Zall climbed to sixth as the newly-promoted side outwitted Rafa Benitez's Dalian Yifang at home with a 1-0 narrow victory.

Leonardo Baptistao's winner came courtesy of a blunder from Yifang defender Li Jianbin as the Brazilian pounced on the loose ball to further dampen the mood of Benitez whose team suffered three consecutive defeats.
