Chinese President Xi Jinping inspected poverty alleviation work and stressed the importance of innovation through a strong manufacturing sector during a tour of central China's Henan Province, which began on Monday.

Day Two: 'Find the way, act boldly'

"Now that you've found the way, you can act boldly," said Xi, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, addressing poverty relief during his tour in Henan on Tuesday.

Xi made the remarks when talking with villagers at an oil-seed camellia plantation in Guangshan County.

The president praised oil-seed camellia planting as green, environmentally friendly and ecologically sound, as well as a good way to boost economic development and increase farmers' income.

Xi also said the plantation should develop to large scale and in a market-oriented way, so as to benefit both companies and the farmers. There is no end to the pursuit of a happier and better life, Xi added.

Party organizations at the primary level should be well developed so that they can effectively implement the plans and policies made by the CPC Central Committee and unite the people to follow the Party's leadership, he went on to say.

Xi then inspected a manufacturing enterprise and ecological protection unit of the Yellow River during his tour in Zhengzhou, of central China's Henan Province on Tuesday afternoon.

The president called for the development of the real economy to be bolstered by manufacturing, with self-reliance as the basis of all endeavors.

During a visit to Xinxian County on Monday, Xi stressed the importance of upgrading facilities for the convenience of villagers' daily life.

"Rural revitalization is not always about demolition and reconstruction," Xi said. "It is about upgrading the facilities of traditional villages with distinctive features to make them more modern and convenient to use so that hot showers are available and the countryside is clean and beautiful."

In Tianpudawan Village, Xi visited two handicraft shops and a residential hotel to discover more about local efforts in building a town of creators and promoting rural tourism and revitalization.
