Patches of pink hairawn muhly blossomed in Shanghai on September 17, 2019. Located alongside the Huangpu River, the pink grass became a sea of vibrant color in a green space beside 1777 Binjiang Avenue.

As a landscape plant, hairawn muhly is suitable for large-scale planting. It can grow as tall as 30-90 cm and as wide as 60-90 cm. Its top is arched and airy with feathery pink spikelets. During the flowering season September-November, planting hairawn muhly in patches can create a magnificent view, like a sea of pink clouds and mists, with an excellent ornamental effect.
