Destroyer Xining from People's Liberation Army's 33rd naval escort fleet has successfully escorted a merchant ship of the Hong Kong SAR to arrive in the western waters of the Gulf of Aden recently, marking the fleet successfully completed the first escort mission. On September 14, the PLA navy's fleet received an escort request from a Hong Kong merchant ship named "Emerald" when it arrived at the designated sea. Xining immediately got prepared for the mission. At about 08:00 on September 15, Xining met with "Emerald" and the escort mission began. By monitoring the surrounding waters and target recognition, the mission was successfully completed. When the escort mission ended, sailors of "Emerald" expressed their gratitude to the navy and gave good wishes to the motherland.
