Since mid August, over 40 MTR stations in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region have been vandalized by radical protesters. They have vandalized entry gates, dismantled surveillance cameras and set station entrances on fire. By indulging in these violent acts they have not only wasted the taxpayers' money but also threatened the lives and safety of Hong Kong residents.
