The Beijing International Art Biennale wrapped up this Friday at the National Art Museum of China. This year's event saw six special exhibitions on contemporary art from countries around the world.
Paintings, engravings, installations, and sculptures. For the first time, an exhibition focusing on American contemporary art was introduced in the Beijing International Art Biennale, with 25 works by 13 artists on display.

Exhibition curator David Yager said many of the works are made of glass and real rocks and they want to show visitors what these materials can be turned into.
The event also featured five other art exhibitions of contemporary art from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization countries, as well as Belarus, South Korea, New Zealand, and various South American countries. Artworks featured explored concerns for nature, life, and the shared destiny of mankind.

Luo Guangming, deputy secretary general of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, said: "Works from six SCO countries are showcased at the exhibitions. We are happy to see art has become a good medium to narrow the gaps between nations, and to help build relationships between people."
The Beijing International Art Biennale has just concluded its 8th run. Nearly 600 artists showcased 640 works at this year's event.
