China has urged the United States to immediately stop interfering in Hong Kong affairs and respect China's sovereignty. This comes after the U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a news conference with Hong Kong protest leader Joshua Wong and activist Denise Ho earlier this week. Pelosi expressed her support for the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act, which, among other measures, would require an annual review of Hong Kong's special trade status.
