A 66-day-old baby girl weighing 3 kilograms has become the youngest infant in Asia to receive a heart transplant at a hospital in Wuhan, capital of central China's Hubei Province, doctors said Thursday. /VCG Photo

The infant girl was found to have aortic stenosis before she was born on April 3, and was diagnosed in May with congenital cardiac defects, which makes heart transplant the only way for her survival. /VCG Photo

On June 8, the baby matched with a suitable heart donor from a 4-year-old child who lost all brain function after falling from a high-rise building. The surgery was conducted the same day and lasted about five hours. /VCG Photo

After three months of significant progress in her recovery since the surgery, the baby is now in stable condition with both her heart and lung functioning just fine and is still under close observation in the hospital's intensive care unit. /VCG Photo

The baby girl's mother, from east China's Shandong Province, said the girl is her third daughter. The other two are 9 and 11. /VCG Photo
