All the 25 sailors of two ships were rescued after their ships struck rocks in strong winds brought by Typhoon Tapah on Saturday, in Zhoushan City, east China's Zhejiang Province. At around 1 a.m. on Saturday, a Mongolian container ship struck a rock two nautical miles northwest of Xiaobanmen Lighthouse, with the body of ship inclining to 30 degrees and 15 crew members trapped. Local authorities immediately launched two rescue ships after being informed. The rescuers successfully evacuated all crew members by using life rafts. At around 7 a.m. Saturday, a Chinese container ship also experienced the same tragedy, with 10 crew members trapped. After receiving the call for help, a rescue ship was deployed to the site. Despite the strong winds, rescuers successfully evacuated all trapped crew members to safety.
