A Chinese delegation visiting Washington did not schedule visits to U.S. agricultural states, Han Jun, deputy director of the office of the central agricultural work leading group and vice minister of agriculture and rural affairs said on Saturday in the American capital during a meeting with representatives of U.S. agricultural research centers, companies and farms.

"We did talk about visiting some local farms with the U.S. side, but no exact dates were set," Han said, adding no visits actually took place.

His response came after recent reports on the Chinese trade delegation's cancellation of visits to farms in Montana and Nebraska.

"The schedule of visiting local farms is a separate itinerary and does not relate to the trade negotiations," Han noted, adding that the U.S. side will invite them for visits later.

Han reiterated that trade talks between both sides were "constructive" and also expressed China's willingness to deepen cooperation in agriculture with the U.S.
