The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) has appealed to external forces to abandon any actions that may lead to the deterioration of the situation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of China and stop creating obstacles to restoring the order and stability in Hong Kong, Secretary General of the SCO Vladimir Norov said in a statement on Monday.

The SCO said it firmly supports the maintenance of the authority of international law and stands for adherence to the UN Charter, especially the principle of non-interference in other countries' internal affairs, mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, and safeguarding the interests of all countries.
