Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with visiting Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi. Xi said China supports the protection of Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He congratulated Iraq for its victory against local terrorism and pledged more support for these efforts. Iraqi PM echoed Xi's remarks. He congratulated China on its upcoming 70th National Day anniversary and said Iraq wants to work with China through the Belt and Road Initiative.
