China's new mega airport – the Beijing Daxing International Airport – is set to open ahead of the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. The airport, located 46 kilometers south of downtown Beijing, is expected to alleviate the pressure on Beijing Capital International Airport in the city's northeastern suburbs. It is going to be one of the world's largest single airport terminal with a total construction area of 1.43 million square meters.
