China condemned U.S.' false allegations during the General Debate of the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, saying that Washington has ignored basic facts in its speech.

The Chinese delegation at the assembly, in a statement, pointed out that in the past 40 years and more, China has persisted in its reform and opening-up, adhered to the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and made remarkable achievements.

They also noted that China's entry into the WTO has not hurt any country, but has benefited the whole world with China's huge market.

"There is no such thing as a so-called impairment of the interests of other countries," Chinese representatives said, stressing that the country has abided by WTO rules, actively implemented its obligations under international treaties relating to intellectual property rights, and given equal treatment and protection to the intellectual property rights of domestic and foreign enterprises.

Later, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang also slammed such allegations, telling Washington that "UNGA is not a place for verbal assault or interferences towards other countries' internal affairs."

Geng hopes that the U.S. delegation could really listen to the other parties at the assembly, hoping they will get a sense that many developing countries are calling for a non-bullied world and a peacefully path of development.

China has made its stance on the China-U.S. relationship crystal clear, Geng said. "Only through mutual respect, and seeking mutual benefit and win-win results could the two sides jointly advance China-U.S. relations based on coordination, cooperation and stability."
