The NHL on Thursday released the full schedule of the 2019-20 regular season, which will begin on October 2 and will end on April 4, 2020 with a total of 1,271 games.
On the opener day, the St. Louis Blues, as the defending champion will meet the Washington Capitals which won the Stanley Cup in 2018 at the Enterprise Center after receiving their first Stanley Cup championship banner.
The other three games on October 2 include Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators at the Scotiabank Arena, Vancouver Canucks vs. Edmonton Oilers at the Rogers Place, and San Jose Sharks vs. Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena.

Two teams, the Canucks and the Buffalo Sabres will meet their 50th anniversary in the 2019-20 season. The Sabres will play host against the New Jersey Devils at the KeyBank Center on October 5 in their first game. The Canucks will play their first home game at the Rogers Arena against the Los Angeles Kings on October 9, exactly 49 years after their first NHL regular season game against, again, the Kings.
The league has arranged three global games this season among four teams. On October 4, the Chicago Blackhawks and the Philadelphia Flyers will play their opener game against each other at the O2 Arena in Prague of the Czech Republic. The Sabres and the Tampa Bay Lightning will go to Stockholm, Sweden in November to play each other twice on November 8 and 9 at the Ericsson Globe.

The Boston Bruins will get their opportunity to take vengeance for their loss in the 2019 Stanley Cup Finals on October 26 by hosting the Blues at the TD Garden. One month later, the Bruins will play at home against the New York Rangers for the Thanksgiving Showdown on November 29.
The Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic will also happen on October 26 between the Calgary Flames and the Winnipeg Jets outdoors at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Saskatchewan. The Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic of the new season will arrive at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas on January 1, 2020. The Dallas Stars and the Nashville Predators will play against each other in this outdoor game as a tradition at the onset of the new year since 2008.

The 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend will happen between January 23 and 26, 2020 at the Enterprise Center, including the 2020 NHL All-Star Skills Competition and the 2020 Honda NHL All-Star Game.
All seven Canadian teams will play on the country's Hockey Day on February 8. Eight days later, on February 16, nine games will take place to celebrate the Hockey Day of the U.S.
The Kings and the Colorado Avalanche will bring the NHL Stadium Series at the U.S. Air Force Academy's Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs on February 15. This will be the second time for the event to happen at an American Service Academy.
