Hong Kong protesters set fires and threw petrol bombs near the government office complex. Protesters also smashed windows at one of the exits of the Wan Chai Subway Station, which has been closed.

Earlier, protesters sprayed graffiti at a Starbucks on Hennessy Road.

Police used a water cannon to disperse demonstrators and made several detentions.
