A total of 19 people were killed in a factory fire in Ninghai County, east China's Zhejiang Province, on Sunday.

Eight people were rescued, among whom three were injured and hospitalized, local authorities said on Monday.

The blazed occurred at a facility owned by the Ruiqi Daily Necessities Company.

The local government has launched an emergency response mechanism, carrying out on-site rescue and providing assistance to the families of the victims.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze is underway.
