A voice from Bangkok: Happy 70th anniversary, China!

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China this year, CGTN and other Chinese reporters embarked on a fact-finding journey to discover and highlight the cultural communication between China and foreign countries. 

One of the stops along that journey was Thailand. Located to the south of China, Thailand has enjoyed a good relationship with the country from as early as 1975.

Pinit Jarusombat, chairman of the Thai-Chinese Promotion Committee and former Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, said spoke highly of the relationship between the two countries and wished China a happy 70th anniversary. 

"This year is a meaningful and valuable year," he said. "I wish that China will continue to be strong and prosperous."

Thailand's Permanent Secretary for Culture Kitsayapong Siri said he hopes the two countries could further strengthen ties in cultural and people-to-people exchanges. Meanwhile, Deputy Governor for International Marketing Asia and South Pacific Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhaya said that he wishes China and the Chinese people "all the best things to come," while expressing the expectation of maintaining a great relationship in tourism and culture with China.

Korn Dabbaransi, president of the Thai-Chinese Friendship Association, said he hopes the friendship between the two countries could last forever.

Prapin Manomaivibool, a Chinese professor at Chulalongkorn University, accompanied Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on several of her visits to China and shared her perspective on the Chinese language and culture in Thailand. Prapin said Chinese culture is loved by many Thai people nowadays, which also reflects the close relationship between the two sides.

CGTN was part of a delegation of reporters that were organized by Bureau of News and Communications of Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) and the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
