There is a natural colorful show happening live and maple trees leaves take center stage at Harbin Engineering University, in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. In autumn, the shortening days and colder nights trigger the trees to prepare for winter. Photosynthesis shuts down, and chlorophyll fades from the leaves, allowing other colors to emerge. They are turning red, yellow, and orange.
