Following the military parade, a civilian mass parade consisting of floats featuring iconic local features, landscapes and the diversity of people across China were part of National Day celebrations on Tuesday.

A float in the shape of "Kunpeng," a sacred animal from Chinese mythology, led the formation. The mythical animal symbolizes the spirit that drives the Chinese nation forward.

It was followed by 34 other floats representing China's provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan.

The floats also displayed important regional achievements over the past years, and showcased the future of the different regions.
