One killed as Typhoon Mitag batters SW South Korea

One person was killed, and another went missing as Typhoon Mitag made landfall in southwestern South Korea on Wednesday night, bringing heavy rain and strong winds to the region. /VCG Photo

The typhoon landed on the coast of the small southwestern fishing county of Haenam at 9:40 p.m., according to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA). /VCG Photo

Mitag is expected to sweep across the peninsula and enter the East Sea on Thursday morning, lashing heavy rainfall and strong winds in the entire country, said KMA. /VCG Photo
