Kampung Teko, Jakarta's only visible floating village, is home to more than 100 families. The village used to be a cemetery with more than 4,000 graves, but is now filled with stilted houses surrounded by water. This is a result of industrial activities, which have caused damage to their drainage system. The village is incapable of absorbing rainwater, causing the spread of water hyacinths that produce a stinging scent.
